HypnObsession, a hypnotic drum and bass, jungle, tribal electronic piece about obsession, a la Vampires, Mermaids and Mermen, and Zombies, has haunting vocals, multi-layered vocal tracks hinting at ghostly choruses. It's a song Ocean wrote about fixations and lust, a Gothic tome. On this track Ocean produced several basslines, played in a Middle Eastern, exotic fashion on top of a beat she learned in Central Asia. The heavy, incessant trance drumming is pivotal to the song.
